Four lost Kirby games found

Four lost Kirby games found

Games get lost - it happens. And when it comes to Kirby games, they tend to get lost more often than not.

But thanks to a little help from fans, four lost Kirby minigames from the Super Famicom’s Satellaview have made their way into the hands of preservationists.

The Satellaview was never released outside of Japan, but was a modem add-on that allowed players to download games. As the games were technically digital downloads, it's not surprising that some have been lost to time.

One of the services available was Kirby no Omocha Hako (「カービィのおもちゃ箱 or “Kirby’s Toy Box”) which consisted of 10 mini-games. Four of which have been recovered:

“Circular Ball” / “ぐるぐるボール”
“Cannon Ball” / “キャノンボール”
“Pachinko” / “パチンコ”
“Arrange Ball” / “アレンジボール”

Preservationist Frank Cifaldi took to Twitter to ask for help raising funds to purchase the games.

Thankfully they are now in the hands of someone who plans to make them available as ROMs rather than attempting to command a ridiculously high eBay price.
